The Spirit of Creativity 02/23/2011
With my ability to play the guitar over the past few years, I'm no where near where I would like to be in my skill level but I've also come a lot further than I ever thought I would be. When there's no natural born talent, God will still provide the supernatural ability for us to be creative. Don't ever limit what He can do through you in creative arts. And use the gifts God gives you to give Him the glory. Zephaniah 3:17-20 11/29/2010
The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” “I will remove from you all who mourn over the loss of your appointed festivals, which is a burden and reproach for you. At that time I will deal with all who oppressed you. I will rescue the lame; I will gather the exiles. I will give them praise and honor in every land where they have suffered shame. At that time I will gather you; at that time I will bring you home. I will give you honor and praise among all the peoples of the earth when I restore your fortunes before your very eyes,” says the LORD. Joshua 10:7-8 So Joshua marched up from Gilgal with his entire army, including all the best fighting men. The LORD said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid of them; I have given them into your hand. Not one of them will be able to withstand you.” After football practice Thurs night, my son Nathan felt led to read Joshua 10, he wanted to learn more about Joshua and his army going to battle on the day the sun stood still. Nathan wanted to read Joshua 10 to increase his faith for his football game on Sat against Andrews. After reading the chapter Nathan got the revelation of the 5 kings as representing 5 armies, and how God helped Joshua win the battle w/ only 1 army. Nathan said to me, "dad, I see Andrews as being the 5 armies and us being 1 army, so they may be stronger than us but we can still beat them!". Andrews is a tough team and they have some big kids, but it is awesome that an 8 year old turned to the bible and God for confidence. He was so inspired after reading Joshua 10 that he felt led to also read again about David and Goliath. He's ready for the game on Saturday and has no fear, he is trusting God, and has claimed victory. How often do we turn to God and our bible when we are feeling troubled, stressed, depressed, and fearful? Just as God put confidence in Nathan and gave him revelation, so will God do the same for anyone who turns to Him for help. God has all the answers we are looking for, all we have to do is ask and devote some time to Him. Psalm 121:1-2 I lift up my eyes to the mountains, where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. I Cor. 2:9-11 But as it is written: "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man, The things which God has prepared for those who love Him." But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Humility 11/01/2010
Never thought that preparing a message about Humility can be so humbling LOL :) Thank you Lord for divine revelation, wisdom, and knowledge. I'll be sharing the message this weds. night at Dayspring and will post my notes here later. This past week our church was blessed by the preaching and ministry of Bishop Alexander Mwami from South Africa. Many lives were touched and changed during the services. I can't wait to go visit South Africa and do ministry at the orphanage that Bishop Mwami is overseeing. God is so awesome. If your life seems chaotic right now just look to Jesus and put your trust in Him. The more we humble ourselves to God, the more peace we will have that even being in chaos is not so chaotic. My wife Kim will be leading worship and ministering at Dayspring Ladies Meeting on Oct. 16th at 10am.
